back at it…

1 Sep

So, I have been inspired once again (thanks Erin)  to start up this blog and hopefully I keep at it.   My goal is not only to update friends and family on Olivia, but also to document her growth so she can have something to look back at when she is older.

Since my last post was way back when Livi started army crawling, I feel like this is a major fast foward in her life.  But to recap, here is a summary of what she is up to now.

-walking/running everywhere!  She is constantly on the move, although her coordination is still developing resulting in a spill every 10 steps.  She has really mastered the art of falling for the most part, but every so often she does some sort of face plant that results in  tears.  (John has considered outfitting her in some pads and a helmet)

-she has quite the sense of humor and the laugh to go along with it.  Case and point- she still insists on calling me “Babby” although she knows perfectly well how to say “Mommy.”  When asked to say my name, she thinks for a good ten seconds, gets a smirk on her face and says “Babby,” then proceeds to crack up.

-She still absolutely loves books!!  She can sit and look at books for a good half hour on her own and gets beyond excited when it’s story time with an adult.  Her current obsession is a massive sticker book I got at Costco that she absolutely loves.  The problem is that it’s looking pretty shabby and I can’t find another one anywhere that she likes as well.

-Talking a ton!!!  Although half of what she says is in her own language and sounds like a mix between German, Russian and Chinese, she does say quite a few English words and the list is growing every day.

Here is what she is currently saying:

  • Mommy/Babby
  • Daddy
  • Kyker or Ky Ky for Kyler
  • Ball
  • Hot
  • Sticker
  • Cracker
  • Yes
  • Up
  • Peas means Please
  • Cheese
  • Hi
  • Bye
  • Shoe Shoe- Yes, she says it twice every time

Although there are many other fun stories to tell and growths she has made, I thought I would save those for future posts and finish with some pictures.  Here are just some fun ones from the summer so far. :)

Thanks for inspiring me. :) I just decided to go for it, but I have a lot of learning to do on all the features since John always did the posts before.
